Reiki workshop at The City of Windsor
Yesterday, Monday November 19, 2007, between 12 am and 2 pm, Reiki-Do was invited by the City of Windsor to give two back-to-back presentations on Reiki as a natural healing art. This event was a part of the Employee Appreciation Week program organized by the municipality.
Each of the workshops consisted in a PowerPoint presentation about natural healing arts, energy healing arts, and specifically about Reiki. Basic information about human body energetic field, aura, charkas, and meridians were included. Also, there was interesting information about some modern researches in the area of Field Radiation Photography and Aura Video Camera Computerized System. Participants also received handouts with detailed information beyond the scope of the presentation itself. At the end of the workshop they had the opportunity to ask questions.
Forms of Ki
As we already discussed in a previous article, ki (qi or chi in Chinese texts) is a general concept of Life Force or Vital Energy. This energy is composed of different specific energies, which constantly move and transform into one another. The concept of qi is primarily associated with the meridian theory used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The following classification is here to cover the gap between the concept of ki and the Chakra system theory. I first read about it in a chapter written by Walter Lubeck (with Frank Arjava Petter and William Lee Rand) in The Spirit of Reiki: The Complete Handbook of the Reiki System, the most complete and thorough Reiki guide ever written.

Reiki-Do Natural Healing Centre hosted the second annual Holistic Health Fair at Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens on Saturday. Among the healing modalities on site were aromatherapy, chiropractic, massage, magnetic massage, Reiki, reflexology, and psychic readings. Holistic practitioners per-formed live demonstrations, giving mini-taster treatments.
“We’re trying to bring [to the Western world] some of the philosophical aspects of Eastern culture [regarding health and healing],” explained Dorinel Patriche, co-owner of Reiki-Do with wife Martha. Dorinel noted that natural healing methods have been known for centuries, and today, provide a balance with modern medicine. “We want to educate people about natural methods of healing,” he continued. “Western medicine is great and has advanced so much. Holistic Health Expo 2007 Kingsville Memories
Reiki-Do hosted Leamington’s second annual Holistic Health Fair at Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens on Saturday September 22nd, 2007, from 9 am to 5 pm. The event intended to educate people about the ancient, yet modern natural healing modalities. The participants’ intention was to help people to relax, refresh, and revive their Mind, Body, Spirit and create tranquility and clarity in their everyday life.
A holistic health fair is a gathering of joy, peace, love, and healing. It brings together mind-like people, as well as people with different views on life and health, people with all kinds of social, economic or ethnic backgrounds. All of them share the same interest in natural healing.

Reiki-Do participated yesterday, August 10, 2007, in Dr. Beleutz’s annual Transition to Betterness Car Wash/BBQ donation event. The event took place from 11 am to 5 pm, in Leamington, at 24 Oak Street East Plaza. All proceeds go to the Leamington District Memorial Hospital for 2 Palliative Care Rooms.
Transition to Betterness (T2B) is a charitable organization that has been providing cancer patients and their families within the Windsor & Essex County community a comfortable and compassionate hospital setting (since 1996).
Dr Beleutz’s annual fundraiser for Transition to Betterness is an event that echoes in many people’s hearts, bringing them together for a noble cause. This year was no exception, as the community responded even more generously than last year to the call for compassion and active involvement in helping cancer patients in Essex County.
