Gendai Reiki-ho Experience
Reiki-Do was represented at the Gendai Reiki-ho course with Hiroshi Doi sensei, on Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, in Toronto, Ontario. It was one of those rare and privileged opportunities that come around once in a lifetime.
I had just returned from that two-day course, and even though I was physically exhausted, I felt like I was flying.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to meet not only Hiroshi Doi sensei, the founder of the Gendai Reiki-ho school, but also Hyacuten Inamoto sensei, the founder of the Komyo Reiki Kai school, who also graciously agreed to be a translator for Hiroshi Doi. Being in the presence of one great Reiki Master is amazing, but sharing the same energy with the two of them is overwhelming.
During the course I took many pictures, as most of the people there. Once I was back home, I was amazed to notice things on the screen that my eyes could not see while I was there. In most of the pictures, you could see orbs, having different sizes, around us, but mostly in the proximity of our two teachers.
Another surprise was that in two different pictures [left and bottom], taken with the same camera, in two different days, from almost the same angle, I was able to see my aura, and Inamoto-sensei’s aura on the glass of the picture on the wall behind us.
You can easily see that the color of the aura is different in the two above-mentioned pictures. My aura’s color is green-blue, as it can bee seen in the picture above, and this came to confirm what I already knew. Inamoto-sensei’s aura in the picture on the right is a beautiful shade of gold, as you can expect from a Buddhist monk.
There is another luminous irregular pattern on the wall, on the left side of both pictures. This can be easily explained by the reflection of the flash on the glass coffee table projected on the wall. The shape of that pattern corresponds to the arrangement of the objects on the table.

This event had a powerful influence on both our Reiki practice and on me. Once I got home, Martha immediately noticed that my energy had changed. Due to Hiroshi Doi sensei’s attunements and reiju, it became more powerful, but at the same time more gentle and soothing.
The first time I had the chance to chat with Doi-sensei, in the presence of Inamoto-sensei, he looked at the Reiki-Do logo on my t-shirt, and asked me if this was what I taught. In a fraction of a second, I realized that this was what we had been teaching, but never thought to give it a name. I said yes, and this was the baptizing moment of our Reiki school.
This course attracted students from all over Canada, from the US and even from Europe. All of them were already Reiki Master Teachers in at least one Reiki style. A very pleasant surprise was to discover among the participants another Reiki Master Teacher from Windsor, Denis Rondeau, with whom I had often crossed paths.
Hiroshi Doi sensei is a well respected international teacher who has shared his knowledge and understanding with a great number of students from around the world. Doi-sensei is a member of the original Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai which has been preserving Usui-sensei’s teachings since 1922. He has received training from the 6th president of the Gakkai Mrs. Koyama, who in turn had been initiated by Admiral Taketomi, one of Usui sensei’s students and 3rd president of the Gakkai. It is through this energy lineage (Usui – Taketomi – Koyama – Doi) that Gendai Reiki Ho offers a deep and firm connection with the roots of Reiki and with Mikao Usui.
Gendai Reiki Ho adds to the original teachings and the energetic and meditative practices of self purification and self growth developed by Usui sensei the modern techniques of Western Reiki. This Reiki system focuses on Reiki Ryoho as both an energy healing modality and a path to spiritual self-realization through the enhancement of the level of Reiki energy flow.
