Yesterday, Monday November 19, 2007, between 12 am and 2 pm, Reiki-Do was invited by the City of Windsor to give two back-to-back presentations on Reiki as a natural healing art. This event was a part of the Employee Appreciation Week program organized by the municipality.
Each of the workshops consisted in a PowerPoint presentation about natural healing arts, energy healing arts, and specifically about Reiki. Basic information about human body energetic field, aura, charkas, and meridians were included. Also, there was interesting information about some modern researches in the area of Field Radiation Photography and Aura Video Camera Computerized System. Participants also received handouts with detailed information beyond the scope of the presentation itself. At the end of the workshop they had the opportunity to ask questions.
At the beginning of the presentation, Dori spoke about the scientific aspects of the Human Energy Field. Martha continued with considerations about the practical aspects related to Reiki and Reiki healing sessions. At this point, Dori asked if somebody in the audience had any specific health issue he could address during this time. In the first group, a lady declared that she was having a severe migraine. The rest of the group could watch for themselves the transformation on that person’s physiognomy while she was receiving a 15 minutes Reiki session. At the end of it, she declared that she felt very relaxed and that the migraine had vanished completely.

In the second group another lady was complaining about lower back problems. At the end of the mini-session, she admitted that she was a third level Reiki Practitioner herself, and she could feel the powerful energy flowing through Dori’s hands. She also admitted that the discomfort was sensibly reduced. After the workshop, she asked Dori and Martha some specific questions about the interaction between the Reiki Practitioner’s energy field and the recipient’s during a healing session.
Even though there were a few different workshops running at the same time at the City of Windsor location, Reiki-Do’s seminars had a good turn out with a total of over 20 people. More and more people are interested in finding out about natural ways of maintaining health and wellness and exploring the vast and creative world of alternative therapies.
