Water Crystals

Some of you may have already heard of Dr. Masaru Emoto’s water crystals photography, either from one of his books Messages from Water, or from the movie What the Blip do we know?.

Masaru Emoto

Dr. Masaru EmotoMasaru Emoto was born on July 22, 1943, in Yokohama, Japan. He graduated from Yokohama Municipal University with a focus on International Relations, and in 1992 he received certification as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine from the Open International University for Alternative Medicine in India. Subsequently he was introduced to the concept of micro cluster water in the US and Magnetic Resonance Analysis technology.

In 1986 Emoto established the IHM Corporation in Tokyo, and he is currently the head of the I.H.M.General Research Institute. He is also the President Emeritus of the International Water For Life Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Oklahoma City, founded in 2005.

He undertook extensive research of water around the planet, more from the perspective of an original thinker and not so much as a scientific researcher. Since 1999, he has published several volumes of a work titled Messages from Water (Messages from Water, The Hidden Messages in Water, and The True Power of Water).

Masaru Emoto is also a good friend of Tadao Yamaguci, Reiki Master Teacher (Tadao is the son of Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi who had trained with Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, one of Usui Sensei’s original students). Read the rest of this entry »

Dowsing Basics

Dowsing, sometimes called divining or water witching, is the practice which permits dowsers to detect hidden or buried water, metals, gemstones, or other such objects without the use of scientific apparatus.

However, dowsing is much more versatile than this. Some people use it to determine the sex of an unborn child. Other people use it to determine which way to go, what path to take, or what to visit. Some others use it to find out if it is beneficial to them to buy a certain book, apparel items or food. A lot of dowsers are asked to discover a missing person or a lost object. A lot of healers use dowsing in Reiki and other alternative medicine practice.

History of dowsing

Dowsing has existed in various forms for thousands of years. The original may have been for divination purposes – to divine the will of the gods, to foretell the future and divine guilt in trials.

The oldest known document about dowsing is a Chinese engraving from the year 147 BC. It shows the Emperor Yu (Hia dynasty, 2200 BC) holding in his hand an instrument shaped like a tuning fork. The inscription on the engraving leaves no doubt as to the purpose of this instrument: “Yu, of the Hia dynasty, was famous for his knowledge of the presence of mineral deposits and sources; he could find concealed objects; he was able by his expertise to adapt the operation of the field according to the different seasons.”

De Re MetallicaDowsing as practiced today probably originated in Germany during the 15th century, when it was used to find metals. The technique spread to England with German miners who came to England to work in the coal mines. In France, in the 17th century, dowsing was used to discover the mineral water stream in Chateau Thierry, or to help police to find criminals.

Unfortunately, during the Middle Ages, dowsing was associated with the Devil. In 1659 dowsing was declared Satanic by the Jesuit Gaspar Schott. In 1701 the Inquisition stopped using the dowsing rod in trials. Martin Luther, even though he was a miner’s son, considered dowsing a capital sin, and included it on the list of things that violate the first commandment.

Modern governments use dowsers. In 1931, the government of British Columbia employed an official dowser. In World War I, the Australian Expeditionary Forces used dowsers to find water at Gallipoli. In 1952, the British used dowsing in order to find water for 9,000 men when building their headquarters in Germany. In 1967, the New York Times featured an article on how the U.S. Marines were using dowsers to detect enemy tunnels. Read the rest of this entry »

World Tai Chi and Qigong Day 2008

Like every last Saturday of April in the last 10 years, this coming Saturday the World Tai Chi and Qigong Day (WTCQD) is celebrated.

The Event

WTCQD Kansas City 1998

The first event was held in Kansas City, Missouri in 1998 on the lawn of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, where the local Tai Chi Club held a mass Tai Chi exhibition and demonstration involving nearly two-hundred people. However, the global event inspired by the above-mentioned event began only in 1999.

WTCQD Hong Kong

This annual event is open to the general public, and begins in the earliest time zones of New Zealand at 10 am, and then participants across Oceania, Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America take part, with celebrations in sixty nations and several hundred cities, ending almost an entire day later with the events in the last time zones of Hawaii . Celebrations include mass Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong exhibitions in many cities, and free classes in most participating cities.

WTCQD Brasil

Over 60 countries are using this event to promote Tai Chi and Qigong (Chi Kung). The purpose of this multinational effort is to expose people to the growing body of medical research related to the concept of Qi (Chi) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

The local events are independently organized by local Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong schools, groups, and associations. The format of events varies by locality, although most involve free classes and mass exhibitions. International organizing for the event is done at the World Tai Chi and Qigong Day office in Overland Park, Kansas.

To this international event, we dedicated last weekend’s Qi Gong and Tai Chi demonstration and class during the Holistic Health Expo Windsor 2008, welcoming the presence of 2 dedicated Tai Chi teachers and promoters, Gerry Steinberg and Sheila Duke a Qi Gong practitioner Dori Patriche.

The theme of this gathering was Maintaining and Re-Creating Health in Mind, Body & Spirit.

This show was organized and coordinated by Martha and Dori Patriche from the Reiki-Do Natural Healing Centre in Leamington, Ontario and Tatjana Erdmann, from The Ancient Healing House in Harrow, Ontario.

The main show took place in the Canada Hall on the Main (1st) Floor and was hosting over 60 booths and 150 holistic practitioners and vendors. The DaVinci Room on the Ground Floor was running presentations on different subjects related to the general theme.

According to the Ancient Eastern Medicine, the 4 pillars of prevention medicine are: bone fixing, tissue manipulation, healing with foods and herbs, and energy healing. The show aimed to reflect these principles by having a wide range of alternative modalities.

The organizers’ biggest challenge was to bring together people with different backgrounds and interests, but with a common ideal of healthy living. Other concerns were maintaining a good proportion among the different modalities, as well as insuring a reasonable distribution of the exhibitors throughout the Essex County.

The Effect of Reiki on Seed Germination and Plant Growth

There hasn’t been much research done on Reiki or more generally on energy healing out there. Science cannot measure such fine energies. All we can do for now is observe and measure their effect. The influence of Reiki Energy on humans is a controversial subject, due to the possibility of a placebo effect. On the other hand, plants are not susceptible to such thing. The following experiment shows how plants are influenced by Reiki.

Summary

Objective: Demonstrate that Reiki energy has a beneficial influence on seed germination and the amount of Reiki energy makes a difference on the growth speed of the plants.

Method: One experiment was performed using wheat seeds germinated in hydroponic lots, in three identical porcelain plates. The lots were placed in very close proximity, in order to ensure identical light and temperature conditions. Also, an equal quantity of water was given three times a day to each plate in order to ensure the same humidity level. The first lot was treated twice a day with Reiki energy, without using any Reiki symbols and without any specific intention, for 5 minutes at a time. The second lot was treated in the same way only once a day. The control lot was not treated at all.

Results: The Reiki energy has a significant effect on the number of seeds sprouted compared to the control lot. The growth speed of the plants is significantly higher in the treated lots compared with the control one, and increases with the amount of Reiki energy administered.

Conclusion: This experiment suggests that Reiki energy affects living biologic systems directly and the seeds and plants can detect and use this energy for their development.

Human Perception

What does manifest mean? What is the difference between the manifest world and the un-manifest world, or the world? What is real and what is not? Let’s try to define and understand all these concepts.

The Humankind Perception Range

First of all, the World is everything that exists independently and outside of us. The World exists regardless of our ability to perceive it. The World is composed of full-range energy frequencies from coarse ones to the finest ones.

The humankind, like any other living species, has its own window of perception, which limits the number of frequencies that can be sensed through primary senses. We can hear in average frequencies between 20 Hz and 20 KHz (1 Kilo Hertz = 103 Hz), and we can see frequencies between 4300 to 7500 THz (1 Tera Hertz = 1012 Hz). What is perceived within that window of sensing is what it is defined as the Manifest World. Everything else that exists outside our limited window of sensing is un-manifest.

Karate and Reiki

Is there any connection between karate and Reiki, besides the fact that both originated in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century? I have the intention to answer this question in a future article. For now, I will just tell you a story about how Reiki and Karate were connected for about a half an hour this past weekend.

Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure to be again in the presence of Yamakura-shihan at the Kingsmen Recreational Complex in Leamington. For those not familiar with karate, Yamakura-shihan is an 8-dan black belt in the Goju-Ryu style and he is the Chairman of the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Kyokai (G.K.K. is the largest Goju-Ryu karate organization in North America). Every year, he comes down to Windsor to teach and share his martial art expertise with the G.K.K. members in this area.

Yamakura-shihan and DoriI arrived for the seminar 15 minutes in advance. Yamakura-shihan was engaged in conversation with Sebastian Pirrone, my teacher and the President of G.K.K. Canada. I joined them and found out Yamakura-shihan had a sore elbow. He already knew that I was a Reiki practitioner, so he asked me if I could help. I told him that a short session will not be able to go to the root of the problem, but will definitely alleviate the pain. I gave him Reiki for about 10-12 minutes. When the Reiki mini-session was over, he threw a punch to verify how that felt.

The Rosebud Experiment

Saturday night, my 17-year-old daughter brought home a rosebud. The poor little flower had been kept without water for a few hours and it was dying, but she put it in water anyway.

Rose before ReikiSunday morning she changed the water and put it in a little crystal vase. I suggested that she give Reiki to it. She is a third level Reiki Practitioner, but also at a difficult age, so I expected a no. I guess her love for flowers just conquered all inhibitions and self-consciousness, so she gladly proceeded to help the rosebud. I really wanted all this documented, so I took a picture before she started the Reiki mini-session, at 10:40 am and you can see for yourself how poorly that rosebud was doing.

This week's
« Light Reflection »

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity.
But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.
